Organised by Dosh and Wales Company, the fiesta aims to reflect the spirit of Lagos while supporting local talent and small businesses.

The promoters, Damilare Osho and Dr. Wale Oyebanji, explained that the vision is to “create a vibrant, inclusive hub where celebration meets commerce.”

According to them, the idea for Eko Fiesta emerged from a common challenge faced by Nigerians in the diaspora and domestic visitors who struggle to find a single venue that offers authentic cultural experiences, shopping, and entertainment during the festive season.

“While Lagos in December is filled with concerts and parties, there’s been a gap for something that goes beyond entertainment — something that blends celebration with purpose,” Osho and Oyebanji stated.

They described Eko Fiesta as an event that bridges this gap by combining music, art, and culture with opportunities for networking and business discovery.

The three-day experience, they added, will not only entertain but also empower local brands, artisans, and entrepreneurs to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship.

“This fiesta is not just about fun,” they emphasised. “It’s about giving small businesses visibility and connecting attendees to the soul of Lagos — its culture, people, and innovation.”

In a show of government support, the Special Adviser on Arts and Culture to the Lagos State Governor, Idris Aregbe, lauded the organisers for aligning their project with the ministry’s mission to promote creativity, tourism, and culture.

According to a statement by Mr. Afolayan Adebiyi, Media Coordinator of the project, Aregbe noted that the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture was impressed by the event’s vision and structure.

“What caught the attention of the ministry was how closely the project aligns with our mission — to promote creativity, tourism, and culture in ways that truly reflect the Lagos spirit,” he said.

“The harmony between music, art, culture, and commerce perfectly represents what we stand for.”
