Davido and Rema lead the Afro Nation Portugal 2027 lineup alongside Fally Ipupa, Omah Lay, Victony and other African music stars
Afrobeats stars Davido and Rema will headline the 2027 edition of Afro Nation Portugal alongside Congolese music heavyweight Fally Ipupa at Praia da Rocha Beach in Portimão, Portugal, from June 9 to 11, 2027.
The organisers announced the first wave of performers for the festival on Thursday, September 24, with Nigerian artistes again taking a prominent place on the international stage.
Omah Lay and Victony are also billed to perform on the main LIT Stage, while British-Nigerian singer Odeal joins the growing list of artistes representing the Nigerian music scene.
The lineup extends beyond Afrobeats, with Jamaican stars Shenseea and Valiant, Tanzanian singer Rayvanny and French-Congolese singer GIMS, who has been announced as a special guest.
South Africa’s amapiano movement will also have a strong presence, with Kabza De Small, TxC, Dlala Thukzin and Young Stunna among the artistes scheduled to perform.
The appearance continues Nigeria’s strong representation at the festival, which has become an important international platform for African music.
Previous editions have featured major Nigerian stars including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Asake and Tems.
Rema previously headlined the Portugal edition in 2024, while Davido has also performed at the festival as Afro Nation continues to attract some of the biggest names in contemporary African music.
The 2027 lineup further reinforces the festival’s focus on Afrobeats while bringing together sounds from across Africa, the Caribbean and Europe.
Amapiano will also occupy a major position at the 2027 festival through performances from some of the genre’s leading figures.
Kabza De Small and TxC will represent South Africa, alongside Dlala Thukzin and Young Stunna.
The inclusion of these artistes reflects the growing international influence of amapiano and its increasing connection with the wider African music movement.
Afro Nation has traditionally blended Afrobeats, amapiano, dancehall, hip-hop, R&B and other contemporary sounds, creating a diverse programme for its international audience.
Afro Nation Portugal 2027 will take place at Praia da Rocha Beach in Portimão from June 9 to 11.
The festival has established the Portuguese coastal city as one of its key international destinations since its launch in 2019.
The event attracts music fans from across Africa, Europe and other parts of the world, combining major performances with beach entertainment and cultural experiences.
The organisers are expected to announce additional artistes as preparations for the 2027 edition continue.
With Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa leading the first wave of performers, the festival is set for another major celebration of African music on Portugal’s Algarve coast.
