Awujale DSS directive issued as nominees are told to report to Ijebu-Ode office, cancelling previously scheduled Aafin Awujale meet-and-greet

The Awujale Kingmakers Council has cancelled a planned meet-and-greet at the Aafin Awujale and directed all Awujale nominees to report to the Department of State Services office in Ijebu-Ode by 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

The directive, contained in a formal communication dated 20 January 2026, was addressed to the Chairman of the Fusengbuwa ruling house, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi; his deputy, Otunba Dokun Ajidagba; and the Vice Chairman, Prof. Fassy Yusuf.

The notice instructed nominees to present themselves at the DSS office along NTA Road, beside the State Psychiatric Hospital, off Igbeba Road, emphasizing punctuality and strict compliance.

Chief Ayotunde Ola Odulaja, Secretary of the Awujale Afobaje Council, signed the letter and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the sudden change.

The development comes amid ongoing traditional processes surrounding Awujale-related nominations in Ijebuland.

No further details were provided regarding the purpose or expected outcome of the DSS engagement at the time of filing this report.
