This global outreach effort aims to allow pilgrims and listeners worldwide to hear the pivotal address in their native tongue, as confirmed by a post on Inside the Haramain’s Facebook page.

Muslim News gathered that three prominent Nigerian languages – Hausa, Fulani, and Yoruba – have made the prestigious list of 34 languages, ensuring greater accessibility for millions of Nigerian Muslims.

The Khutbah Arafah (Arafat Sermon), delivered at Masjid Namirah on Arafat Day (June 5), is a cornerstone of the Hajj pilgrimage.

Sheikh Bin Humaid, a respected imam and khateeb of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, will lead the sermon and prayers at Namirah Mosque on this most significant day of Hajj.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that this initiative, spearheaded by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, is now recognised as the world’s largest project of its kind.

Launched in 2018 with translations initially offered in just five languages, the project has seen remarkable growth.

By 2024, it had expanded to an impressive 50 languages in less than a decade, reflecting the Kingdom’s unwavering dedication to spreading the message of moderation and Islamic values globally.
