THE Rotary Club of Ikoyi has donated some Hospital Materials to the Sickle Cell Foundation, Leg Ulcer Unit, Idi-Araba Lagos.

The Club President Rotarian: Funsho Gbogboade was taken around the hospital to different departments from the Hospital from Leg Ulcer Unit to the Blood transfusion Units; to the Haemoglobin Laboratory. This is to enable them to see things for themselves and be able to render more assistance to the hospital.

The items which include Gauze Roll, Cutting Wool; Purit Solutions; and Gloves among other items were handed over to Dr. (Mrs) Annette Akinsete, CEO and National Director Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria, on behalf of the club.

Speaking during the presentation, Gbogboade stated that what prompted her to donate was because, the foundation gives a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) service to Nigerians, just as the club does too, and therefore assured the foundation that this is just the beginning. They will be invited to come talk to the club in due time, as a way of soaring their relationship.
Akinsete expressed her gratitude to the club and to other Rotary clubs in the district for its years of support to the foundation which happens to be the first of its kind in Nigeria, noting that Rotary Club Ikoyi as a special club that had in previous times, been donating things to them.
She urged them not to stop at this, but now a partnership relationship has developed between the club and the foundation, and they will be expecting more from them since the treatment from the foundation is free, especially to the Leg Ulcer Unit.
