The development followed a meeting between Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu and the Czech Ambassador to Nigeria, Tomáš Výprachtický, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding areas of economic collaboration.

In a statement shared on Friday, the minister described the engagement as productive and focused on building stronger partnerships through strategic cooperation and technical exchanges.

According to Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, discussions covered technology transfer, agricultural development, renewable energy projects, healthcare services, education and industrial growth, with both countries seeking new opportunities for mutually beneficial investment and trade.

The minister said Tomáš Výprachtický identified Nigeria as a strategic partner with considerable political and economic influence within Sub-Saharan Africa.

She noted that the ambassador reaffirmed the commitment of the Czech diplomatic mission in Abuja to supporting government-to-government and business-to-business partnerships designed to unlock economic opportunities in both countries.

A significant highlight of the meeting was the discussion of ongoing Czech-backed commercial and development projects in several Nigerian states, particularly within the agricultural sector, which remains a major pillar of Nigeria’s economy.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu also revealed that both sides explored ways to establish stronger institutional frameworks to support long-term cooperation.

The talks included proposals for sustainable development initiatives and the creation of a joint commission mechanism that would coordinate collaboration in critical sectors and monitor the implementation of agreed projects.
