Jarvis shaved hair for her wedding after her stylist advised the cut would help achieve a neater, more polished hair installation
Nigerian TikTok creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has revealed why she shaved her hair before her wedding to fellow content creator Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, popularly known as Peller, saying her hairstylist recommended the drastic cut to achieve a cleaner and more polished hair installation.
Jarvis made the clarification after speculation online suggested that the haircut was connected to traditional marriage rites.
Speaking in a video following the wedding, Jarvis rejected that explanation and said the decision was instead driven by the demands of her chosen hairstyle.
The content creator said her natural hair was particularly difficult to work with and had affected how her frontal was sitting.
According to Jarvis, her stylist believed removing the hair would make it easier to achieve the finish she wanted for the wedding.
“The wedding is finally over and I’m super happy. I’m proud of myself and my husband,” Jarvis said, before addressing the speculation directly. She added that she “barbed my hair because I wanted my hair installation to be perfect”.
Jarvis’s explanation places the haircut in the practical, rather than ceremonial, side of her wedding preparations.
For a bride whose appearance was expected to attract considerable attention online, the decision also underlines the sometimes painstaking preparation behind the polished images associated with high-profile weddings.
The clarification comes after months of intense public interest in Jarvis and Peller’s relationship.
The couple announced their white wedding date as 1 August 2026 after completing traditional marriage rites in Benin City, Edo State, where Peller met Jarvis’s family and fulfilled customary requirements, including payment of the bride price.
The pair subsequently completed a civil wedding before preparing for the white wedding. Their pre-wedding photographs, released in July, showed the couple embracing the final stages of the preparations and prompted another wave of congratulatory messages from followers.
The wedding journey had already produced several memorable moments.
Peller proposed to Jarvis on 3 June 2026 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana, before following the proposal with a public digital billboard surprise in Lagos. The couple later announced the 1 August ceremony under the wedding identity and hashtag #Jarpel.
Wedding preparations also generated conversation around the couple’s Aso Ebi arrangements.
Peller disclosed that an eight-yard version of the fabric cost ₦700,000 and said about 400 guests were expected to wear it, adding another layer of public interest to an already closely watched celebration.
Jarvis had also offered a candid perspective on the pressures surrounding marriage before the ceremony, advising young Nigerians not to rush into marriage because of social or family expectations.
She argued that couples should consider their financial readiness and suggested that traditional and white weddings could be separated across different years to reduce the burden of wedding expenses.
For Jarvis, however, the explanation for the shaved head is considerably simpler. The decision was about achieving the hairstyle she wanted for an important day, rather than observing a marriage ritual.
Her clarification now puts an end to one of the more persistent questions surrounding her wedding look, while offering a revealing glimpse into the practical decisions that can sit behind a carefully finished bridal appearance.
