Davido support Adeleke Osun election pledge as singer vows to back Osun governor and resist vote manipulation ahead of 2026 poll

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has publicly declared his support for his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Davido made the statement on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, expressing readiness to actively participate in the electoral process and resist any attempt to manipulate the outcome of the August 15, 2026 election.

Davido support pledge came after the singer reshared a video on his Instagram Story featuring comments on electoral malpractice, accompanied by a strong warning against vote rigging.

He vowed to stand firmly with the governor and ensure the integrity of the electoral process, insisting that any attempt to undermine the election would be resisted.

“August 15, anybody wey try rig go collect in the highest order. I will be in the field to defend our votes,” he wrote, reaffirming his commitment.

Davido also restated his support for Governor Adeleke, signalling his active involvement in the campaign period leading up to the election.

His comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with supporters praising his loyalty while critics questioned celebrity involvement in political processes.

The singer had previously been linked to youth mobilisation efforts within the Accord Party campaign structure under Governor Adeleke’s political activities.
