The actress shared her views in a post on Instagram while weighing in on conversations surrounding failed relationships and misplaced blame.

According to Beverly Osu, society is often quick to judge individuals who end up with the wrong partner while overlooking the actions of those who intentionally misrepresent themselves to gain trust and affection.

She said people frequently shame victims of deception for making what is perceived as a poor choice, despite the fact that many relationships begin with one partner presenting a false version of themselves.

The actress urged the public to rethink how relationship failures are viewed and discussed.

She argued that trust should not be treated as a weakness and that individuals who enter relationships in good faith should not be blamed when they are deceived.

“We love blaming people for choosing the wrong partner, but we never blame the person who faked their entire personality just to get them,” she wrote.

Beverly Osu added that attention should instead be directed at those who manipulate others through dishonesty and false representations.

“Stop shaming someone for trusting, and start holding the deceiver accountable for manipulating,” she stated.

Her comments quickly generated reactions from social media users, with many agreeing that accountability in relationships should extend to those who intentionally mislead others.

Others noted that while individuals should exercise caution when choosing partners, deliberate deception remains a major factor in many relationship breakdowns.
