Oyo State gears up for Vibing December, a month-long cultural and entertainment festival from Dec.1 to Jan.2, 2026, featuring music, fashion, food, and tourism experiences across the state
The Oyo State Government has partnered with private and corporate organisers to stage Vibing December, popularly called Faaji December, a month-long cultural and entertainment festival aimed at closing 2025 with a bang and ushering in 2026 in style.
Briefing reporters on Monday, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, said the festival, scheduled to run from December 1, 2025, to January 2, 2026, is designed to generate business opportunities for residents and position Oyo State as a hub of cultural expression and entertainment during the holiday season.
“The festivities will not be limited to Ibadan; they will take place across towns in the state. Adequate security measures are in place to protect lives and property before, during, and after the celebrations,” Olatubosun assured.

Nigerian Breweries’ December Experience featuring beer villages from Dec. 4 to Jan. 2.
D Fantasyland Variety Programme at the Recreation Club open field in Sabo, Ibadan, Dec. 24–26.
Ojude UI Celebration at the University of Ibadan open field on Dec. 20, with musical concerts and artistes’ hangouts.
Amala Cuisine Exhibition by the Amala Festival on Dec. 6.
Ogbomoso Cradle Carnival in Ogbomoso, Dec. 18–22.
Oyo Durbar on Dec. 27, alongside the Amala Festival and Atewolara Festival at the National Museum, Aleshinloye, Ibadan, on Dec. 14.
Additionally, the carnival will feature fashion exhibitions by Ibadan Fashion Rising and a Faaji Cruise on the Eleyele River, organised by Royal Cruise Entertainment with celebrity appearances.
Hotels across the state, led by JAGZ Hotel and the Hoteliers Association, will host variety shows and Hotel Vibes events throughout the festive season.
The month-long celebration is set to be formally launched by Governor Seyi Makinde in the first week of December.
