IPADA Initiative 2025 will celebrate African culture, tourism, and unity from Nov 28 to Dec 7 at La Campagne Tropicana Resort, Lagos
According to organisers, the IPADA Initiative 2025 is set to celebrate African culture, tourism, and heritage from 28 November to 7 December at La Campagne Tropicana Resort, Ikegun, Lagos State.
The event marks the first major activity ushering in Lagos’ end-of-year festivities, popularly known as Detty December.
The programme promises a wide array of attractions, including a music festival, beauty pageant, carnival procession, and other cultural showcases.
Speaking about the vision behind the initiative, founder Otunba Wanle Akinboboye emphasised the importance of projecting Africa’s natural resources, cultural diversity, and tourist potential to drive development.
He said, “We must regularly ask ourselves why the wealthiest continent in the world, with over 1.5 billion people, abundant natural resources, and millions of Africans in the diaspora, is still regarded as one of the poorest.
IPADA Initiative aims to unite the continent and its lovers, using Lagos as the gateway to Africa.”
Akinboboye revealed that a five-year programme has already been laid out, linking activities across North, South, East, West, and Central Africa.
He explained that this coordinated calendar allows visitors worldwide to plan trips to multiple African destinations conveniently.
He added, “A John Doe in Denver, Colorado, can check our schedule, pick an event that interests him, and plan a trip gradually over the years.
By creating such a collective platform, we can tap into nearly two billion people across Africa and the diaspora, boosting tourism and cultural engagement.”
The IPADA Initiative 2025 is expected to be a key platform for celebrating African identity while highlighting Nigeria, particularly Lagos, as a continental hub for tourism and culture.
