The controversy began after DJ Cuppy expressed excitement over her sister Temi Otedola’s pregnancy announcement, writing a short message celebrating her upcoming role as an aunt.

She wrote: “Am going to be an auntyyyyy 🍼💘.”

The post immediately drew attention, with popular social media critic Daniel Regha correcting the statement and pointing out the grammatical error in his response.

He wrote: “I am, or I’m (going to be an auntyyyyy). Remember you are an Oxford graduate.”

The exchange quickly gained traction across social media platforms, with users divided over whether the correction was necessary or overly harsh given the casual tone of the post.

Some users defended DJ Cuppy, suggesting the message was written in excitement rather than formal context, while others argued that her educational background made the error more noticeable.
