CAN congratulates Rashidi Ladoja on his ascension as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan, saying his leadership will bring peace and prosperity

CAN congratulates Rashidi Ladoja on his elevation to the revered position of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan Land, describing his leadership as a promise of renewed peace, development, and unity in the ancient city.

In a congratulatory message issued on Thursday in Ibadan, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State chapter, Apostle Joshua Akinyemiju, commended Ladoja’s “intelligence and distinguished leadership qualities” that have earned him the throne.

Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State and senator representing Ibadan North-West, is set to be formally crowned Olubadan on Friday.

Apostle Akinyemiju remarked, “On behalf of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, I heartily congratulate you on your selection and approval. Stepping into this enviable throne is an exciting feat, and we are delighted that God has given you this great opportunity.”

He praised Ladoja’s history of justice, fairness and equity, expressing confidence that these values would continue to shape his reign.

“It is our unwavering belief that the dedication, ability, and resilience that got you to the throne will continue to serve you well,” the cleric added.

Akinyemiju concluded with prayers for divine guidance and strength as Ladoja assumes the sacred traditional leadership role.

The Olubadan stool is one of the most respected traditional institutions in Yorubaland, and Ladoja’s ascension is widely seen as a pivotal moment for Ibadan’s cultural and political history.
