Sights from Ede Ajilala Ọṣọ Festival 2025 drew crowds of revellers, culture enthusiasts, and dignitaries to the ancient town of Ede in Osun State, offering a rich display of Yorùbá heritage, traditional artistry, and communal pride.
The 2025 edition of the festival, was marked by colourful parades, rhythmic drum performances, and an elaborate showcase of traditional garments such as aso òfì and adìrẹ.
Locally made crafts and pottery were also exhibited, spotlighting the town’s age-old creative traditions.
Organised under the leadership of cultural advocate Prince Adewale Laoye, the event aimed to reposition Ede as a hub for cultural and music tourism.
“This year’s Ajilala Ọṣọ Festival is not just a celebration, it’s a renaissance of Ede’s cultural pride,” Prince Laoye remarked.
The official anthem, “Aji La’La Oso”, was performed live, further enlivening the festival grounds with a powerful message of heritage and unity.
The song celebrates the town’s lineage, its traditional ruler the Timi of Ede and the enduring spirit of its people.
Festival-goers witnessed dramatic reenactments of ancestral stories, traditional sporting displays, and dances performed by troupes from across Osun.
With over 10,000 attendees including members of the diaspora, the 2025 edition reaffirmed the festival’s growing appeal.
As Osun State continues to promote indigenous tourism, the sights from Ede Ajilala Ọṣọ Festival 2025 stand as a bold visual and cultural statement preserving Yorùbá traditions while opening doors to global recognition.
