OGD remains a member of APC, media office clarifies amid false reports of suspension and calls for retraction of libelous publications
The media office of Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD), former Governor of Ogun State and current Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, has categorically refuted recent false claims circulating in several news platforms alleging his suspension from the All Progressive Congress (APC).
In a strong rejoinder, the media office condemned the libelous and malicious articles published by Oguninsight, News Across, Vanguard, PM News, and others on August 24, 2025.
These publications, under various headlines including “EXCLUSIV: Billions, Betrayal, and a By-Election- The Inside Story of Gbenga Daniel’s Suspension from Ogun APC” and “Why APC Suspended Senator Gbenga Daniel”, have unfairly attacked the character and reputation of Senator Daniel.
The statement highlighted the damaging effect such reports could have on Senator Daniel’s well-earned reputation from years of dedicated professional, business, and political service.
The media office demanded an immediate public retraction and apology published in all outlets that carried the defamatory articles, along with removal of the stories from all social and new media platforms within seven days, warning that legal action will be pursued otherwise.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel is and remains a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, elected and remains on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC),” the statement concluded emphatically.
This clarification aims to end the malicious misinformation and reassure the public and supporters of Senator Daniel’s unwavering affiliation with the APC.
