Federal Character Commission appointments receive royal praise as Ooni of Ife commends President Tinubu’s choice of Omidiran and Eluyemi
Federal Character Commission appointments made by President Bola Tinubu have been warmly received by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who described the selections as timely and commendable.
In a statement from the palace on Wednesday, the Ooni applauded the appointments of Ayo Omidiran as Chairman of the Federal Character Commission and Mr Eludayo Eluyemi as the Federal Commissioner representing Osun State.
Oba Ogunwusi described the choices as a recognition of competence, dedication, and long-standing service to Nigeria, adding that both appointees bring valuable experience and character to the sensitive national assignment.
“Omidiran’s track record of legislative service and grassroots development, coupled with Eluyemi’s dedication to public administration, leaves no doubt that they will uphold the principles of fairness and national cohesion that the commission represents,” the monarch stated.
The Ooni urged the duo to treat their new roles not just as appointments but as a sacred responsibility to both Osun State and the entire country.
He emphasized that their mandate at the Federal Character Commission involves ensuring equity, inclusivity, and fairness in public service structure — a task that demands high integrity and national consciousness.
Omidiran, a former federal lawmaker and grassroots development advocate, hails from Ikire in Irewole Local Government Area of Osun. Eluyemi, known for his administrative experience, also comes with a strong public service background.
The Federal Character Commission plays a critical role in ensuring balanced representation in federal appointments and employment, upholding Nigeria’s unity through equitable distribution of opportunities.
