Epe Local Government in Lagos unveils plans for a modern museum and e-library to promote education and preserve culture for residents and visitors
The Chairperson of Epe Local Government Area in Lagos State, Surah Animashaun, has revealed plans for the construction of a state-of-the-art museum and e-library. The project is aimed at fostering educational development and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the area.
In a statement issued on Monday, Animashaun explained that the ongoing construction is part of her administration’s broader commitment to cultural preservation and the promotion of education in the region. Once completed, the facility will serve as a dynamic hub for learning, community engagement, and cultural enrichment.
“I am committed to ensuring that Epe becomes a local council that is not only safe and beautiful but also ready for business. Upon completion, the museum and e-library will serve as a vibrant centre for learning, cultural preservation, and community activities,” Animashaun said.
The new facility will feature a range of modern amenities, including interactive exhibits, a well-equipped library, and versatile spaces for educational programs and community events.
The council chairperson highlighted that the museum and e-library will enhance the lives of both residents and visitors, making it a valuable asset for the community.
Animashaun also emphasised that the location of Epe will play a significant role in turning the area into a commercial hub for Lagos State, with the museum and e-library contributing to the region’s economic growth.
“I urge tourists, visitors, learners, and educators to have no fear as the government will ensure the smooth operation of the museum and e-library once completed,” she assured.
She further assured the public that the project would be completed on time and within budget, with a strong focus on transparency and accountability.
“We look forward to celebrating the successful completion of this iconic facility, which will undoubtedly become a source of pride for our community,” Animashaun concluded.
