ACCIOBA book unveiling holds in Lagos as alumni celebrate ACC Irrua legacy with new publication and reunion event
The Annunciation Catholic College Irrua Old Boys Association will today unveil a commemorative publication during its 2026 reunion in Lagos, marking a significant milestone in celebrating the legacy of its alma mater.
The event, which will culminate in a reunion gathering, is being hosted by ACCIOBA global president, Dr Ohens Joseph, and co-hosted by Lagos branch chairman Efe Akhigbe alongside other branch leaders.
The ceremony will take place at Civic Centre on Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island.
At the centre of the celebration is the unveiling of a new book titled “Aay Cey Cey! No Rival: The Making of a Great School,” published by ACCIOBA Publications and edited by Pius Akhimien.
The publication is a rich compendium of stories and personal experiences contributed by alumni, offering a reflective account of the institution’s history and impact.
In the foreword, Dr Ohens Joseph described the book as more than a historical record, noting that it captures the enduring spirit of Annunciation Catholic College Irrua.
He said the work brings together memories, milestones and defining moments that illustrate the school’s role in shaping lives and contributing to national development.
Dr Ohens Joseph added that the book serves as both a nostalgic journey for former students and an essential chronicle for new audiences, highlighting values such as brotherhood, loyalty, philanthropy and a strong sense of identity rooted in the institution’s heritage.
The event is scheduled to begin at 12 noon with a red carpet session, setting the stage for an afternoon of celebration, reflection and renewed alumni connections.
Organisers say the unveiling underscores ACCIOBA’s commitment to preserving its history while inspiring future generations, reinforcing the enduring influence of Annunciation Catholic College Irrua within Nigeria’s educational landscape.
