The 35-year-old superstar achieved the milestone on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, after his collaboration with global icon Shakira on the official 2026 FIFA World Cup song, ‘Dai Dai’, debuted at number 75 on the prestigious chart.

Burna Boy’s ninth entry sees him break a previous tie with fellow Nigerian star Tems, who sits on eight entries. The track gained significant momentum following a high-profile performance by the duo at the World Cup opening ceremony.

The Odumodu Music frontman has now become the first African artist to chart at least one song on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years, underlining his consistent global appeal.

His impressive catalogue of Hot 100 entries includes ‘Loved By You’ (2021), ‘Last Last’ (2022), ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ and ‘Talibans II’ (2023), ‘Just Like Me’ and ‘We Pray’ (2024), ‘WGFT’ (2025), and ‘Only You’ and ‘Dai Dai’ (2026).
